Commerce. Blockbuster movies on a giant outdoor screen. Vendors sell
fresh popcorn, burritos, smoothies, pizza and movie-style candy. Bring

Aspen Ideas Festival
presented by the Aspen Institute. Festival
engages participants in a variety of programs, tutorials, seminars and
discussion events mainly focused on international relations. Visit

Performance in the Park summer concert series presented by
Carbondale Council on the Arts and Humanities. Concerts feature variety
of live performances including rock, folk, jazz and blues. Held July 4,
13, 20, and Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. in Sopris Park or in the Downtown Plaza.

Aspen’s old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration. Includes a
parade down Main Street, community picnic, U.S. Air Force jet fly-by,
an outdoor concert series, kids' bicycle rodeo and fireworks over Aspen

Community Picnic hosted by Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club.
Locals and visitors alike are welcome to attend this traditional
barbecue featuring live music, children's activities and a beer garden.

Boogie's Diner Buddy 5-Mile Race presented by Boogie’s Diner and
benefiting the Buddy Program. Race start is at Boogie's Diner, located
at Cooper and Hunter streets in Aspen. Online registration available at

Camp Aspen/Snowmass presented by Aspen Skiing Co. Camp provides
a fun, dynamic environment with daily and weekly programs available for
ages 3 through teens. Private lessons are available for adults.
Activities include mountainboarding, skateboarding, paintball, mountain
biking and more. Weekend privates, theme and nature days, horseback
riding, swimming and a variety of activity combinations also available.

Guided Nature Walks
offered by Aspen Center for Environmental
Studies. Free 45-minute walk with a naturalist from the ACES. Offered
daily on the hour, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., June 14-Sept. 1. Meet at the top of
the Silver Queen Gondola at Aspen Mountain. Free 925-1220.

Guided Nature Walks and Hikes offered by Aspen Center for
Environmental Studies. A naturalist from the Aspen Center for
Environmental Studies guides hikes with views of Snowmass Village and
surrounding areas. Offered daily at 10 a.m. (nature walk) and 1 p.m.
(nature hike or walk, depending on group interest). Meet at the
Information Desk in the Snowmass Ticket Pavilion. Free. 925-1220.
