Aspen Middle School music depart­ment annual fundraiser
is taking orders for florist-quality poinsettias that will raise money
for their grow­ing program. Offered are three col­ors: red, pink, and
white; three sizes: small, medium and large; and three corresponding
prices: $18, $39, and $60. Last day to order is Nov. 12. Orders
delivered on Dec. 2. Place an order with any music student or by

32nd annual Carbondale Christmas Boutique

hosted by the Carbondale Fire Station. Event features handmade gifts by
local artisans including oil paintings, Christmas decorations,
can­dlesticks, handmade greeting cards, organic bath and body products,
hand­knit scarves and hats, potpourri, aro­matherapy reed diffusers,
handmade candies, jellies, breads and more. A portion of the proceeds
benefits the Carbondale Fire Department. 8 a.m.­3 p.m. at the fire

“The Minds of Boys” workshop

pre­sented by Betsy Hoke of the Gurian Institute. Workshop is designed
to empower parents and teachers by pre­senting a new way of relating to
boys through the application of neuro-bio­logical research on how boys’

Willits Harvest Festival.
Event
fea­tures refreshments, a piñata filled with goodies and a scarecrow
contest for kids and adults alike, with prizes for winners in six
categories. Grand prize­winning entry will receive two tickets to Taste
of Basalt and will be displayed at Taste of Basalt later that evening.
Scarecrows must ready by 2:15 p.m.

so that it can be hoisted up in Triangle Park, where it will remain on

“ School House Rock”

“The Pool”

Opera House. Story of Venkatesh, a “room boy” working at a hotel in
Panjim, Goa, who sees a luxuriant garden and shimmering pool hidden
behind a wall. He offers his services to the wealthy owner of the home.
Not content to simply dream about a different life, Venkatesh is
inquisitive about the home’s inhabitants — and the world around him —
and his curiosity changes the shape of his future. 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
