Chris’ Kidney Fundraiser and Silent Auction. Event includes food, music and a silent auction featuring gift certificates from local merchants, gift baskets, Avalanche hockey tickets, lift tickets, swim passes, art, Aspen Ski Co. clothing and more. All proceeds benefit Christopher Lechuga, a 23-year Glenwood Springs native in need of a kidney transplant. 3-8 p.m. at Glenwood Springs Masonic Lodge. "Momma's Man" presented by the Wheeler Opera House. Film chronicles the increasingly anxious dilemma of Mikey (Matt Boren), a young husband and father who stops off at his parents loft during a business trip to New York and finds himself emotionally unable to leave. While his doting mother is more than happy, his father grows suspicious. Mikey moves back into his old room. He immerses himself in childhood memorabilia, dodges his wife’s panicked voicemail’s, and even attempts to resurrect old neighborhood buddies. But as his life builds to a darkly comic pitch, this young father realizes that he must choose between life as it is and life as it was. 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.  at the Wheeler in Aspen. “The Crimson Club” fundraiser for WindWalkers Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy Center. Event includes music by the Jeannie Walla Jazz Quartet and the Frying Pan Bluegrass Band, food by regional chefs Nick Massie of Massie’s Fine Catering and Nelson Perkins, a French Culinary Institute graduate and owner of Chez Vous, and silent auction items such as  jewelry and art, restaurant gift certificates, health club memberships, festival tickets, equine acupuncture, golf, ski lift tickets, and an antique horse-drawn sleigh. 7 p.m. at the Carbondale Firehouse. David Mamet's "Oleanna" presented by New Space Theatre. “Oleanna” concerns  the interaction between a middle-aged professor and a young female student as they deal with issues of socio-economic inequality, sexism and power struggles in general. 7:30 p.m. at the New Space Theatre at Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley Center in Glenwood Springs.
