Vasque Golden Leaf Half Marathon presented by Aspen Recreation Department. Course traverses elevation gains of 970 feet peaking at 9,400 feet. Saturday run group hosted by Independence Run and Hike. Run every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. starting from Independence Run and Hike and one other location in Carbondale. Run goes on in rain, snow, cold or sunshine. Each week an e-mail with the proposed route will be sent out. Aspen Saturday Market. Market sells fresh fruit, produce, arts and crafts, includes live music and more. Saturday mornings on Hopkins Avenue in Aspen. Runs through Oct. 18.

Wulfsohn Trail above Glenwood Meadows improvement project organized by Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers. Volunteers have completed about two-thirds of this two-plus-mile trail. This year volunteers will complete the east and west access and reconstruct a boggy area. Volunteers should wear work clothes while the organizers will provide all tools and necessasry direction. Senior Fall Colors Jeep Tour presented by Aspen Rotary Club. The day starts with coffee and doughnuts at the Pitkin County Senior Center at 10 a.m. From there, Rotarians will take seniors on a scenic drive up the front of Aspen Mountain and down the back side to the Lindley Hutfor a barbecue meal and sing-a-long with Dave Ratcliff. Seniors throughout the Valley are invited to participate. Cost: $15 per person. Volunteers are sought for work at the Lindley Hut; volunteer drivers with four-wheel drive vehicles are also needed. Om’Mok’s Didgeridoo Sound Healing Journey.
