Snowmass Village Balloon Festival hosted by the town of Snowmass Village. Weekend events include balloon races, rides and live music by Jeff Finlin. Events start at 7:30 a.m. at the Snowmass Softball Field. For more information and full schedule of events, visit snowmassballoon.com.

12 Hours of Snowmass presented by Aspen Youth Center. Twelve-hour mountain bike race at Snowmass Ski Area. Choose to ride solo, or in teams of two, three or open (up to eight riders). The intermediate course features climbs, descents and plenty of single track. The race is a benefit for Aspen Youth Center and Extreme Sports Camp for kids with autism. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Snowmass Ski Area. Cost; 4100/solo, duo/$250, $300/junior class (10-18 years old), $350/legend, bike shop, or ski patrol class. Onsite registration is 2-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Snowmass Pavilion; there is no race-day registration. Kids and Teens Safety Fair presented by Valley View Hospital. Safety fair for parents and their children — newborns to teens. “Last Days of Summer Roundup” fundraising event for a senior center in Carbondale. Event hosted by Anita Witt and includes music by Heart of the Rockies and trick and Roman riding by Larry Lewis, a barbecue served by Big Mama’s Home Cookin, and a silent and live auction.
