“Politics of Dignity” event featuring Dr. Robert Fuller presented by Peaceful Blue Planet. Fuller is known for his work with Jimmy Carter, John Denver, and Werner Erhard on the Hunger Project. Other speakers include Rev. Keith Perry and Chris Collins. Gourmet meal served at 6 p.m. Entertainment will include a special performance featuring Jeff Pine. 11th annual John Denver Week. Celebration of the life and music of John Denver. Friends and “The World Family of John Denver” host an array of events from concerts to picnics. Write Now! presented by the Aspen Writers' Foundation offers writers the chance to develop new techniques to jump-start their writing with fun, noncritiqued sessions led by local writers. Participants are asked to bring pen and paper for group exercises that are the centerpiece of the program. Attendees may share work they develop in the meeting. Write Now! meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. (holidays excepted) in the Red Brick Center for the Arts conference room in Aspen. 925-3122 ext. 4.

"Transsiberian" presented by the Wheeler Opera House. Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer play an American couple returning from a charity mission in China who are later joined in their cramped train compartment by a seductive Spanish traveler and his owl-eyed girlfriend. One look at this creepy Eurotrash duo and there’s no question that trouble lies around the next snowy bend in the tracks, and the plot thickens with the arrival of Russian inspector (Ben Kingsley), the films chief resident nogoodnik. 7:30 p.m., at the Wheeler in Aspen.
