Widespread Panic, John Fogerty, Jerry Douglas and the Blues Brothers are among the acts Jazz Aspen Snowmass announced today as part of their summer lineup.

Widespread Panic, a Southern jam band with a large following, will play two nights, Thursday, Aug. 28, and Friday, Aug. 29, as part of the JAS Labor Day weekend. John Fogerty, founder of Creedence Clearwater Revival, will perform, Monday, Sept. 1, with the popular American string band music, Yonder Mountain String Band, and legendary dobro player Jerry Douglas, opening for Fogerty.

Other acts for the Labor Day festival in Snowmass will be announced at a later time.

JAS will kick off its summer concert series with a festival in mid-June with jazz singer Dianne Reeves and Brazilian newcomer Bebel Gilberto scheduled for Thursday, June 19. The 28-piece Brian Setzer Orchestra will rock and swing the grand white tent at Rio Grande Park the following night, Saturday, June 21, with soul sensation Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings opening. Setzer used to play with the Stray Cats — a popular band in the early 1980s MTV era. On Sunday June 22, Los Lonely Boys are scheduled to perform with a co-headline act to be announced. The Friday, June 20, show also has not been finalized and acts for that day will be named later this spring.

Other concerts were also announced today. On Tuesday, June 24, The Count Basie Orchestra will back 2008 Grammy winning vocalist Patti Austin in her tribute “For Ella,” in a collaborative show with the Aspen Music Festival and School at the Benedict Music Tent. JAS and the music festival and Cuban salsa and timba singer Issac Delgado is scheduled to perform. Delgado is the first major artist to defect from Cuba in the last 25 years.

And in the midst of it all, JAS will present The Blues Brothers for its JASummerNights Gala, supporting JAS music education programs, at the Belly Up in Aspen on July 24.
