Concert and conversation with Perla Batalla presented by Aspen
Writers' Foundation as part of The Big Read. Evening of music and
conversation with Grammy-nominated singer Perla Batalla. Award-winning
author Denise Chávez will introduce Batalla and be on hand prior to the
performance for informal conversations with audience members. The free
event will include a "Bless Me, Ultima" book giveaway and complimentary
Mexican food and drink. 7 p.m. at Thunder River Theatre Company,

"Friends!?!" presented by Aspen Country Day
School. Original production looks at the ups and  downs of a group
of friends as they make their way through school life and the
challenges and joys of  growing up. Friday: 7 p.m., Saturday: 5
p.m. at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. Cost: $20/adults,

Grief and Creativity Workshop presented
by Renick Stevenson. Program will help people of all ages cope with
profound loss through expressive art. Workshop is free to the public
and welcomes donations only. Participants must commit to attending all
three days of the workshop: Friday: 7-10 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4

Andrew Norman and Roaring Fork Valley student composers present their
music and his own at Harris Concert Hall in Aspen, 6:30 p.m. Free.
