Last Saturday at Highlands was one of the busiest days of the year for the resort tucked up the Maroon Creek valley and lots of people were chatting this week about how good the skiing was.
So, you can expect another good turnout this weekend. The weather has been warm this week but temps have stayed below 60 degrees, so the snowpack at high should still be in pretty good shape.
The forecast now for Saturday is for partly sunny skies and breezy with a high near 48 degrees, which is a bit stubborn in the heat department, but should be okay for skiing.
Sunday’s forecast is for mostly sunny conditions with a high near 52 degrees.
Saturday also marks the first day of flights on Frontier Airlines between Denver and Aspen so there may well be cheap seats that would make a day trip or a weekend trip to Aspen well worth doing, so you might check that out.
Lift tickets are $39 with youth and seniors tickets at $35 and children’s tickets at $25.
