First Wednesdays senior activities
offered by the Carbondale
Recreation Department. The first Wednesday of every month the
Carbondale Recreation Department will pick up seniors throughout the
community as well as Crystal Meadow for a day of running errands or
doing shopping in Carbondale or Glenwood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost:
$4. To reserve a spot on the van, call 704-4115.

Used Book Sale presented by the Friends of the Glenwood Springs
Branch Library. Hours are Wednesday: noon-5:30 p.m. Library is located
at 413 9th Street and the sale is held in the basement. 945-5958.

Basalt High School Art Show. Students will be showcasing their
work in the high school gymnasium. Creative paintings, sculptures,
jewelry and more will be on display. 4-6 p.m.

Heron, eagle and osprey watching near Cattle Creek hosted by
Roaring Fork Conservancy. Event is free and open to the public. Space
is limited, reservations are required. Visit roaringfork.org/events to

Open Mic Night

Deeksha presented by Julia Desmond. Deeksha is the transfer of
divine energy and awakening. 7-9 p.m. in the Rio Grande Room. Cost:

Write Now! presented by the Aspen Writers' Foundation offers
writers the chance to develop new techniques to jump-start their
writing with fun, noncritiqued sessions led by Jordan Dann.
Participants are asked to bring pen and paper for group exercises that
are the centerpiece of the program. Attendees may share work they
develop in the meeting. Weekly on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. (holidays
excepted) in the Red Brick Center for the Arts conference room in
Aspen. 925-3122 ext. 4.
