Saturday run group hosted by Independence Run and Hike. Run every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. starting from Independence Run and Hike and one other location in Carbondale. Run goes on in rain, snow, cold or sunshine. Each week an e-mail with the proposed route will be sent out. Y’Art Sale presented by Carbondale Clay Center. Flea market of art supplies, pottery “seconds,” funky home décor, scrapbooking supplies, garden fixtures, framed artwork, and more. All proceeds from support CCC’s year-round ceramic art programming. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. 963-2529.   

Aspen Saturday Market. Market sells fresh fruit, produce, arts and crafts, includes live music and more. Saturday mornings on Hopkins Avenue in Aspen. Runs through Oct. 18.

”Painting Autumn” seminar offered by H. Lee Shapiro. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Ashcroft ghost town outside of Aspen. Cost: $35. 925-5035.

Aspen Ruggerfest. Aspen Ruggerfest is a world-class rugby tournament that attracts nearly 50 teams from all over the continental United States, Hawaii, the Southern Hemisphere and Europe. Divisions of play include: Men’s open division, Women’s open division, Masters 35+, Masters 45+ and Master’s 50+. Play divided between Rio Grande and Wagner parks in Aspen. Aspen Community Social Dance. Freak Power Film Night presented by Aspen Historical Society to benefit GrassRoots TV.
