Now that it's Colorado's unofficial state song, there's more reason to celebrate the man behind the music: John Denver Week begins on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 12. The real honors come later in the week with musical tributes by friends, family and fellow musicians of the man who died in a tragic plane accident. Those performances at the Wheeler Opera House start at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15. Earlier in the coming week the lectures include "Wake Up Your Possibilities" at T-Lazy-7 Ranch on Wednesday and "It's Easy Being Green" at Aspen Community Church on Thursday.
