If you’re curious about baking your own bread and brewing your own beer — or you just like filling your stomach with them — head to Carbondale this weekend for a new two-day festival and feast.
The first annual Carbondale Brews and Bread Fest starts Friday June 1 and runs through Saturday at the Third Street Center and PAC3.
Events will showcase the art of home brewing, offer tastings with local and regional craft brewers, pizza-making, and community bread-baking on-site.
It includes live music both days, including Trunk, the Itals, Dan Sheridan and David Bromberg (who is featured in our Music Beat column this week, on page 4).
The bread oven will begin baking at 6 p.m. on Friday and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Breweries on hand will include locals like Aspen Brewing, Breckenridge Brewery, Carbondale Beer Works and state stalwarts like New Belgium adn Left Hand. A local’s home brew competition is set for Saturday afternoon.
Inclusive tickets to all the events, tastings and shows are $70. Tickets to events and shows are also available separately. A full schedule is online at pac3carbondale.com
