Should the city of Aspen get involved in encouraging more affordable or moderately priced lodging options?
A government-subsidized hostel could be just the thing town needs.
Zoning bonuses or some other incentive could be appropriate to get more inexpensive rooms in town.
Aspen has lower-priced options already that don't need additional competition.
Aspen's high average hotel rates are a blessing, not a curse.
