Yoga is good for your mind, body and spirit. It is also good for the planet. Yogis tend to care about themselves and the world around them, that’s why the Aspen Eco Fest is teaming up with The Aspen Yoga Society and adding yoga to it’s awesome lineup this year. We are doing this for the community and hope you will get out of your house and join us for some very special events.
This is an opportunity for the community to come together. Aspen is an awesome place, founded on the Aspen Idea: nourishing and connecting mind, body and spirit. The Paepckes felt that potential back in the 1940s and its still very true today, but the “idea” needs to be nourished. Yoga is an excellent way to improve health and well being, but even more importantly, it is a tool to bring people together. When we unite, we are stronger and happier. Join us for some fun community yoga events this year at Aspen Eco Fest. All ages are welcome.
The yoga offerings at the year’s Eco Fest include:
• June 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Wheeler Opera House: A Discussion and book signing with internationally renowned yogi Rod Stryker on his new book, “The Four Desires: Creating a Life of Purpose, Prosperity, Happiness, and Freedom.”
• June 9, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at The Wheeler Opera House (after Stryker) Yoga Rave: On the Wheeler Stage with live DJ and drumming. Bring your mat for a bootie-shaking yoga class with Evan Rachel Soroka, Courtney Smith, Gina Murdock and Kellyn Johnson, with DJ Lior rocking the tunes and Eden on drums — wear white. Tickets are $13 in advance or $18 at the door for the talk and the rave. Tickets available at The Wheeler Opera House or on aspenshowtixs.com.
• June 10, 9-10:30 a.m. in Paepcke Park: Yoga Day of Action with some of your favorite teachers. All levels welcome, and event is free. Come find out how you can contribute to a better world.
• June 10, 11 a.m. in Paepcke Park: Kids All Valley Music Together with Annie Flynn followed by kids yoga with Shannon Jones.
