Playing in Vail on June 9, the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club opened its 45th season with a close-fought loss (23-22) to Vail Rugby Club. The Vail club is now in its 40th season.

Moving up from the Young Gents, and playing extremely well, were forwards Morgan Frothingham, Zack “Honey Badger” Hendrix, and Willie “Heat” Klein. Peceli Rinakama and James Aldridge had strong showings for the backs.

Aspen’s home opener against Steamboat Springs will be at Rio Grande field this coming Saturday, June 16, at 1:30 p.m. A great afternoon can be had by coming out and cheering on the Gents.
