There are people in our valley in such dire circumstances that they never experience many of the small comforts and services that most of us take for granted, like going to the doctor, a dental or eye exam, taking their children to the movie theater, enjoying nice or new clothing. If we all pull together, maybe we can help provide some of those things for others.

On Sept. 29 we are hosting “A Day of Giving” to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aspen. We are all so blessed in this valley. It is a time to take the chance to give back to all of those in need. If anyone would like to donate new or gently used clothing or good or services, it would be greatly appreciated.

It is also important to get the word out to anyone who could use some help with clothing to make sure they come to the event. It will be a time of giving and receiving for us all.

The event will be from 9-3 p.m. at the church (thank you, St. Mary’s).

If you’d like to give a tax deductible donation instead, please send it to St. Mary’s Church/Day of Giving, c/o Monica, 533 East Main Street, Aspen, Colo., 81611. We will use donations to contribute towards clothing or services and can advertise your name or business if you’d like.
