SkiCo job fair today at Buttermilk

 
Aspen Skiing Co. is hosting a job fair for open winter positions today at Bumps restaurant at the base of Buttermilk from 2-6 p.m.
 
Seasonal positions being filled include hospitality, lift operations, rental/retail and ski school. For a full listing of jobs available, and to apply online, visit www.aspensnowmass.com/jobs [1]. All candidates are asked to fill out the online application and then RSVP to 920-0966.
 
An additional upcoming job fair will be held at Bumps on Nov. 1.

Locals kids need a leader for learning

 
The Early Learning Center, Aspen’s largest day care and preschool, is searching for a new executive director, and is currently accepting resumes.
 
Qualified candidates are either currently director-certified by the state of Colorado, or willing to become director-certified within one year of employment.

First Friday in Carbondale coming up

 
Carbondale is celebrating its First Friday on Oct. 5. The upcoming weekend also heralds in Celtic Fest and October Fest, as well as a smattering of Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) events. Transportation includes a horse drawn carriage throughout town, sponsored by the Pour House.
 
Celtic Fest takes place in the 4th Street Plaza from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Neighbors and friends will toast the Emerald Isle with an evening of bagpipes, spirits and the “Best Legs in a Kilt Contest.”
 
Then on Saturday, Oktoberfest takes over the 4th Street Plaza from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with German bands, contests, food and beer. Commemorative steins will be available while supplies last.
 
This First Friday, the Carbondale Council on Arts & Humanities will showcase a collection of women’s art in the valley at its “VISION TO VOICE: Contemporary Work from Women Artists in the Roaring Fork Valley” gallery exhibit opening at 6 p.m. in the R2 Gallery at the CCAH Center for the Arts, 520 S. Third Street.
 
Visitors are encouraged to park in the temporary RFTA parking lot at the corner of Highway 133 and Colorado Avenue and walk to the various First Fridays events.
 
The next First Fridays committee meeting is on Oct. 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Third Street Center conference room. For more information call 963-1890.
