I want to express my sincere thanks to everyone who helped me after my recent bicycle accident descending from the Bells.
I was found unconscious and bleeding, but a great group of locals and tourists called the ambulance and the skilled staff at Aspen Valley Hospital immediately began to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Thanks to the EMTs, everyone in the ER, Dr. Schultz and Dr. Cirillo, and Emily and Erika who started the process of nursing me back to health. Even though I had more cuts and bruises than a Manny Pacquiao post-fight opponent, and more broken ribs than the dumpster at the Hickory House, I remain optimistic that I will be back on my skis by winter and riding my bicycle again in the spring.
The severe head trauma left me with total retrograde amnesia. I have no recollection of what happened, but all my friends in Aspen are hopeful that this accident will finally “knock some sense into me.”
