Start toward the option of banning plastic

Editor:

Snowmass Village residents have the chance to open the conversation on single-use plastic bag legislation. From Mexico City to Boston and close to home in Aspen and Carbondale, residents are bagging their groceries without plastic bags and without much complaint. Single-use bags are quite a detriment to our livelihood, consuming finite resources, polluting our waterways, and affecting human health.

It is a simple question, are you interested in looking at single-use plastic bag legislation? It is not defining the outcome, just allowing the possibility to look into it. It can connect the valley and provide an opportunity to look at unique options for Snowmass, connecting the community and environment. Come election time I ask you to vote “yes” on 2A and at least allow the conversation to start.
