There are certain things you shouldn’t skimp on. Gloves fall into that category.

That’s why the Hestra XCR Glove is worth every penny. I’m three seasons into these puppies and I have a feeling I’ll be rocking them at least that much longer.

The Swedish-made gloves leave nothing to be desired on cold-weather days. “Army Goat” leather on the palm and inside of the fingers will keep a good grip on the ski pole, and the Gore-Tex fabric covering the rest of the glove will keep your hands dry. The “snow lock” feature is a cuff that goes over the ends of your jacket sleeves and clamps down.

Seriously, I feel like the full-on Abominable Snowman when I have these things on.

With all these great features, maybe my favorite part about my Hestra gloves is the handcuffs, which attach to the wrists. This has surely saved me from losing them many times over. The only issue is that when the gloves are dangling, typically while going between the bottom of Little Nell and the gondola, snow likes to fall in them.

The XCR Glove is not suited for spring skiing or warm weather, but for the coldest and deepest days, they’ll have you covered.

Get Your Own:
The Hestra XCR Glove is available at numerous retailers in Aspen
for around $170.
