Dwight Shellman’s resignation as director of elections for Pitkin County means the loss of one of our community’s most outstanding public servants. As Pitkin County Republican chair, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Dwight and his colleagues in the clerk’s office over the last few elections. Dwight has brought to his role a keen intelligence, a sense of duty and fairness, and a willingness to work long hours to get the job done on behalf of all of the voters of Pitkin County.
We will miss Dwight, but wish him and Rodney all the best in their new endeavors.
