Colorado Mountain College (CMC) was ranked as the 17th best community college in the nation recently by CNN Money, thanks to its 69 percent success rate in seeing students either graduate in three years of move on to a four-year university.
The CNN survey looked at nearly 800 community colleges. CMC’s ranking was the top in the state.
The success rate is drawn from each school’s federally reported rates of students graduating within three years or transferring to a four-year college.

CMC is a community college that also recently began granting bachelor’s degrees in some programs. It has seven campuses across the high country, including the Roaring Fork Valley.
