The Children’s Rocky Mountain School just completed the second annual valleywide Great Pajama Drive. We collected 257 pairs of pajamas — newborn to adult sizes — which was be paired with a book from The Family Visitor Program and distributed to families in need by Valentine’s Day. The Children’s Rocky Mountain School hosts an event each year that helps children learn about “giving back” to their community. Our goal was to host a local pajama/book drive to share the love of bedtime reading by providing new pajamas and books for the neediest families within our community.
This effort would not have succeeded without all the valley wide support we received. A special thanks to: Sandy Swanson from the Family Visitor Program for providing books to accompany PJs, Amiee Beazley, Erin Rigney from Rainy Day Designs, KDNK, Annette at Copy Copy for donating poster printing, Carbondale Chamber, Nicole Johnson from newjammies.com, Carbondale Community School, Joan Chovanec at the Children’s Mini College, The Early Childhood Network, Alpine Banks, Paula Fothergill from the Carbondale Rotary, Gordon Cooper Library, Blue Lake Preschool, Basalt Library, Pediatric Partners, Roaring Fork Family Physicians, GWS Library, Dana Damm and the Staff from the Garfield County Department of Childcare, Valley View Hospital, ELC, St. Barnabus Church, Growing Years Preschool, and especially the parents and staff at the Children’s Rocky Mountain School.
