Education doesn’t always work to make things better. That’s because all humans can forget. The entire nation forgot that Congress is in a bad state. The public’s performance audit rates it below 20 percent. All our education has not prevented this failure.
The political leadership did not try to use elections to make changes — both parties re-elected incumbents. The watchdog press forgot they had been reporting the failure. The intellectuals reviewing the State of the Union address focussed all their attention on Rubio reaching for a water bottle. The address did not deal with a dysfunctional Congress because it is easier to forget it than it is to remember it.
Education may come from having a very bad experience. The State of the Union address had one, and it is up to human nature to remember what education is for.
This seems to be a hurry up and wait matter.
