Aspen police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man they say is a person of interest in a burglary earlier this week from a local ski shop.
Timothy J. Tobin, 30, of Aspen is being sought in connection with the investigation. The burglary, where electronics, equipment and apparel was taken from the D&E/Four Mountain Sports store in Aspen was reported on Thursday.
Aspen police posted a picture and description of Tobin on their Facebook page around 6:15 p.m. Friday evening, asking anyone with “information related to his current location” to call police at 970 920-5310. Tobin is described as a white male, 6-feet tall, 165 pounds with blue eyes and short brown hair. He recently had a full beard.
Tobin was reportedly an employee of the shop, but had been let go earlier in the season.
Tobin was listed in Friday’s police blotter for an arrest on shoplifting charges Feb. 21 from the local Sunglass Hut.
Burglary is defined as entering a building illegally with the intent to commit a crime.
