I object to the syndicated columns by Eugene Robinson. He may be fine as a liberal political analyst on MSNBC, but the Aspen Daily News editorial page deserves better.
Every column starts by demeaning and insulting someone with conservative values and the right. Even when Robinson praised Rand Paul (“Rand Paul talks the talk,” Aspen Daily News, March 9), he cannot resist starting off with a cheap shot: “The Republican senator from Kentucky, whom I’ve ridiculed as an archconservative kook — because that’s basically what he is …”
The polarization between Americans is at an all time high. It is time for our leaders and media commentators to stop degrading half the population with their lefty lay-ups every time they communicate. Our country is based on freedom, liberty and respecting the rights of others.
Maybe the Aspen Daily News will consider rotating columnists so the residents of Aspen and the valley can get a balance of views.
