Grammy-winner Ben Harper and bluesman Charlie Musselwhite have been added to Jazz Aspen Snowmass’s June Festival lineup, both performing on Saturday, June 22 at the Benedict Music Tent.
Harper recently teamed up with Musselwhite, the harmonica legend and Blues Hall of Fame inductee, on their collaborative blues album, “Get Up!”
The 11-piece Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by the husband-wife team of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, will perform on Sunday, June 23 with special guests Naturally 7.
These artists will join Jackson Browne — previously announced for the Friday, June 21 headlining slot — and July 5 performers Pink Martini.
The Pink Martini show is presented in association with the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Jazz Aspen Snowmass is also throwing a free festival lawn party on the Benedict Music Tent grounds, starting at 6 p.m., June 21-23. Two bands will perform nightly, including Cuban-born Pablo Menendez “Mezcla” and rising world-fusion star TIZER.
The JAS Café Downstairs at the Nell’s summer series has also been announced to include Raul Midon on June 26; Jon Cleary on June 28 and 29; the 12-piece Cuban big band Wil Campa Y su Gran Union on July 5; Tony DeSare on July 18 and 19; and the Italian jazz vocalist Roberta Gambarini on Aug. 17 and 18.
Additional dates and artists will be announced at a later date.
