This election season we are faced with a plethora of candidates, and because of this I think it is incredibly important for every voter to make an informed decision based on the values and issues close to their own hearts. For me, as a longtime local and new mother, there is no candidate that better represents my ideals for Aspen and its future than Torre.
From the first time I met him, his commitment to this town and its people has been glaringly apparent. From his off-season street bowling league to his dedication to provide opportunity for locals to make Aspen their home, his commitment to keeping Aspen’s spirit alive benefits all of us. Keeping the vitality of Aspen in the downtown core as well as helping us all to be more green in the decisions we make every day represents only a small fraction of the efforts Torre has made over the last 20 years to make Aspen a better place to live.
I don’t know another candidate so personally invested in this town. There is no one else I have been able to turn to, to question, to debate, or vent to other than Torre.
Life in Aspen is the epitome of the American Dream as well as the embodiment of the democratic ideal. Torre is here to represent all of us. Whether you are a small-business owner, a working-class family, or a giant corporation, he has always found a way to integrate us all into the new, better, and more evolved Aspen.
You have so many choices on Election Day, however, I urge you to look at Torre’s voting record, his length of service and his commitment to all of us, and then to vote Torre for mayor.
