On the front page of the Aspen Daily News (“City of Aspen will most likely consider new pot shop regulations,” April 30) Dorothy M. Atkins writes “LJ Erspamer was the only candidate who spoke against allowing pot shops altogether.”
This outrageously false statement is completely misrepresentative of the truth. See the facts at www.grassrootstv.org and click on Squirm Night for mayoral candidates. Scroll the recording to 59.45.
The moderator asked the question: What is your position on pot clubs? He didn’t say pot shops.
My answer was I am opposed to pot clubs. I did not represent at any time that I was opposed to pot shops. Pot clubs could have a negative impact on our fragile visitor base.
The pot issue is very new to society and needs to simmer at each level until a responsible council can proceed with confidence in dealing with appropriate measures for this issue.
I voted to decriminalize pot in the last election. See the interview with Brent Gardner-Smith on www.Grassrootstv.org .
I have no problem with the pot dispensaries or shops. Voters should know the facts and not be deceived by the false or irresponsible reporting.
