The Buddy Program wishes to extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in Lemonade Day this past Saturday, June 29. Thank you to the communities throughout the Roaring Fork Valley for your unwavering support and enthusiasm for our local Lemonade Day chapter.
This spring, 422 children registered to participate in Lemonade Day in order to own and operate their own lemonade-stand business, with over 190 learning the Lemonade Day curriculum in their classroom in May. On Lemonade Day, they opened up their stands for business and the important lessons of financial literacy, entrepreneurship and goal setting were on display. The day showcased the creativity and hard work of the children and the community partnerships with the Aspen Art Museum, the Wyly Community Art Center, the Aspen Institute’s Aspen Ideas Festival, the school districts and others.
We wish to extend a special thank you to our sponsors and supporters, whose financial contribution allows us to keep the program free of charge for all grade school-aged youth. An extra hearty thank you to our lead sponsors, Nancy and Richard Rogers from Mary Kay Inc., and Alpine Bank. Additionally, we wish to thank the municipalities throughout the valley for their support and guidance and the many parents and caring adults who provided countless hours of mentorship, supervision and patience.
Cheers to Lemonade Day 2013. Thank you for your important contributions.
