Vectra Bank is hosting an “economic update breakfast” on Wednesday, Aug. 21 that features a panel of expert speakers who will talk about factors impacting the local recovery and the nation’s road to energy independence.
While there are challenges, bright spots and unknowns, they’ll walk participants through all of the issues from a local, national and global perspective.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Doerr Hosier Center at the Aspen Meadows Resort.
The Sonoran Institute and the Glenwood Springs Resort Association are launching the Glenwood Springs Community Development Academy (CDA), a seminar series focused on planning and development issues in today’s economy.
Over eight weekly sessions, CDA participants will learn about and discuss choices and issues facing Glenwood Springs, as well as the role of effective leadership and decision-making in creating successful communities.
The academy is open to all members of the community with an interest in how community planning relates to the economic success of Glenwood Springs.
The course will take place on Monday nights in Glenwood Springs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. from Sept. 16 to Nov. 4. There will be a special mobile tour option taking place on Monday, Sept. 30. The cost for the course is $100, which includes all materials and catered dinners. An extra small fee to cover transportation expenses for the mobile tour will be collected after the course begins. Limited scholarships are available for the course and mobile tour.
