In response to a mutual aid call on Friday morning, the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department sent three swift water rescue team members to Boulder to assist with the massive flooding in that community.
Fire chief Rick Balentine said the team members will assist emergency response personnel there with evacuations and rescues. Two swift water rescue members from Snowmass also were deployed, as well as a team from Carbondale and one member from Basalt.
Balentine said the volunteers could be there as long as four days.
