Theater lovers in the Roaring Fork Valley have come to depend on Carbondale’s Thunder River Theatre Company for elegant productions of stage classics along with newer works by the leading playwrights of our time.
This fall, the company gives us “Something Intangible,” an acclaimed recent play by Bruce Graham. It opens Friday, Sept. 28 at Thunder River at 7:30 p.m..
The play won seven Barrymore Awards in 2009, including Best New Play. It features a Walt Disney-like character, focusing on his relationship with his brother and his struggles of commercial and artistic ambition.
The cast includes company members David Pulliam, Valerie Haugen and Richard Lyon, along with guests Chris Wheatley and Zeke Eagan.
Graham himself is coming to town for the opening, and will join the cast and crew for an audience talk-back on Saturday, Sept. 28. Performances continue Sept. 28, Oct. 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12. All shows are at 7:30, except for a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct. 6.
