SNOWMASS VILLAGE — Situated near the headwaters ofseveral high-mountain waterways, Snowmass Village will have its own unique setof potential flooding issues this spring and summer. Homes and businesses won’tbe susceptible to overflowing riverbanks like residents of Basalt and other low-lyingareas have to worry about, but the steep hillsides could quickly unleashtorrents of water, mud and debris with little warning to homes below.

Barry Kent Maggert, of Carbondale, died May 8 in atragic accident. His family takes great comfort knowing he passed doingsomething he loved, piloting his airplane. He would tease that he was still inhis 30s; he was 37 (47). His sense of humor was legendary.
