If your inner Velma Kelly, Roxie Hart or even Billy Flynn has being dying for some time in the spotlight, then Aspen Community Theatre's "Chicago" auditions are for you. The play-turned-Tony-winning-musical-turned-Oscar-winning movie explores the themes of celebrity and scandal in jazz- and Prohibition-era Chicago. Auditions for the musical will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5-6, at the Aspen District Theatre. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a prepared song with sheet music in the correct key, excluding songs from "Chicago." An accompanist will be provided. Friday slots are from 6-8:30 p.m. and Saturday slots are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For an appointment, call Rita Hunter at 923-3327.
