Big Air Friday Returns
The annual springtime huckfest at Snowmass known as Big Air Friday is here.
Now in its 13th year, the weekly competition on Upper Fanny Hill runs every Friday, beginning Feb. 7, through March 28. The fan-friendly show brings competitors from around Colorado and beyond to showcase new ski and snowboard tricks off of a 40-foot jump. It’s a weekly taste of the X Games, with skiers and boarders attempting the new combinations of twists, flips and amplitude that bring snow sports to new heights of progression every season.
Just a few years ago, 2014 Olympian Torin Yater-Wallace was among the high-flying teen athletes vying for Big Air Friday prize money. So don’t miss this chance to catch the future stars of freeskiing in Snowmass.
Competition begins at 2 p.m. with registration starting an hour before. Competing is free, but limited to athletes age 13 or older. The kid-friendly Little Air Friday features a less imposing jump and giveaways as prizes.
