Ernie Meissner passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 26, 2008.
Ernie touched many lives on the slopes of Aspen and on the waters of Georgian Bay, Canada. He will be remembered by his ski buddies and boating friends, and greatly missed by his wife, Christine.
Ernie was an outstanding track and field athlete, setting many records. He attended the University of Michigan and while there, switched his focus to diving. His accomplishments included a fifth place in both the Pan-Am Games in Chicago and the 1960 Rome Olympics, and a bronze medal in the British Empire Games in Perth, Australia.
Remember him with a smile today, he wasn’t one for tears. Reflect instead on memories of all the happy years. His endless stories, smiling face and eyes that shone with fun. Ski a powder run in the trees for Ernie this winter.
Donations can be made to the Canadian Olympic diving team through www.erbgood.com.

So sad to hear about Ernie
Chris, I've tried to reach you by phone for weeks and have been unable to get you. We were so sorry to hear about Ernie. I saw him last March, and he looked great, so I'm sure you've been in total shock. Had no idea about his heart problems. Please accept our sincere condolences and let us know whether there is anything we can do for you here.
Love,
Janine (Sharkey) and David Hill
