ANDERSON RANCH ARTS CENTER BOARD ANNOUNCES OFFICERS AND NEW BOARD MEMBERS
The Anderson Ranch Arts Center has officially announced their new officers and board members for 2009-2010, as well as recognized retiring board members. This year’s chair will be Mary Scanlan; vice-chair and chair of the Committee of Trustees will be Andrea Wendel; Dale Hollinger will take the position of secretary; Bruce Berger will be treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee; Tom O’Connor will take the position as chair of the Development Committee; and Sara Ransford will act as chair of the Planning Committee. New trustees will include Wendy Aresty, Enrique Martinez Celaya, Carolyn Hamlet, and Becky Murray. Jerry Finger was appointed as an honorary trustee. Retiring and completing their terms as devoted trustees this year are Judith Barnard, Kathryn Fleck, Ellen Hunt, Dough Leibinger, and Betty Weiss. Anderson Ranch is an art facility dedicated to nurturing creativity and growth through the making and understanding of the visual arts. The center attracts over 10,000 artists, art lovers, students and faculty each year.
ANDERSON RANCH ARTS CENTER BOARD APPOINTS INTERIM PRESIDENT AND PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE
The Anderson Ranch Arts Center Board of Trustees has also made their decision to appoint Paul Collins as their new interim president of Anderson Ranch. Collins, who presently serves as chair of the gallery, public events and visiting artist/visiting critic programs and is the artistic director of painting and drawing, will be temporarily replacing Hunter O’Hanian as president this August. “We are very exited that Paul stepped forward to assume this important responsibility,” said Mary Scanlan, the chair of Anderson Ranch’s Board of Trustees. The board has also appointed Betsy Chaffin as the chair of the presidential search committee. The committee will announce a plan for finding the next permanent leader for the ranch once fully organized.
ASPEN CHOSEN AS THE HOST CITY OF 2010 PRSA AND TOURISMS/SATW CONFERENCE
The Aspen Chamber Resort Association announced it will be the host city of the 2010 Public Relations Society of America Travel and Tourism/Society of American Travel Writers conference. The city will host approximately 300 travel-associated PR professionals and about 30 A-list media in May of 2010. Aspen faced surprisingly tough competition in beating out other cities before being chosen as the host location of 2010’s conference. This year’s conference will feature hands-on workshops, top national media speakers, a premier media reception, and nightly entertainment in Aspen and Snowmass. The theme for the conference has yet to be determined, but ACRA will help in orchestrating all events. Events will take place from May 25-28.

RENO SMITH ARCHITECTS LLC NAMES NEW ASSOCIATES
Reno Architect Firm LLC has recently named Stephen Dunn and Richard Spencer as its two newest associates with the firm. Dunn, a Montana State University graduate, has been with Reno Smith for five years. The Malkoff Residences project, located in Old Snowmass, which was managed by Dunn, has recently been featured in Mountain Homestyle Magazine. Spencer, a member of the American Institute of Architects, attended Hampshire College and the University of Colorado and has worked with Reno Smith for two years. He was heavily involved with the management of the Boomerang Lodge renovations and additions. Both Dunn and Spencer are excited to be taking on more management responsibilities with Reno Smith Architects.
