Give a poo, write a haiku
The city of Aspen is calling for the best haikus and limericks about Aspen’s most popular complaint: dog poo.
Submissions are due July 1, and the winner will be announced the weekend of July 4. The top entries will be featured in local newspapers, and all entries will appear on the city of Aspen’s Web site. The winner will receive a gift certificate. E-mail your best work to brianlo@ci.aspen.co.us or mail entries to the Aspen Parks Department, Attention Brian Long, 130 S. Galena, Aspen, CO 81611.
“The competition is meant to be a fun way to remind people to keep Aspen dog friendly by picking up after their dog,” said Parks Ranger Brian Long. “We’ve already gotten some great submissions, and I hope they keep coming.”
Call 319-0536 for more information on keeping Aspen dog friendly or for more information about the competition.
