Timothy Kennedy Donovan, 63, died on Feb. 20, 2008, at his home in Carbondale. He was born Sept. 13, 1944, to Robert and Katherine (Kennedy) Donovan in Cincinnati. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio, in 1962.
Timothy enlisted in the Air Force in May 1965 and achieved the rank of sergeant. After his discharge from the Air Force, he and his family moved to Denver in 1971. He moved the family to Glenwood Springs in 1979 and spent almost 30 years in the Roaring Fork Valley making many close friends in Glenwood Springs, Aspen and Carbondale. He was a talented architect contributing substantial design work to many important commercial and residential projects through the years.
He is survived by his son, Brent (Erin) of Glenwood Springs; daughter, Colleen Donovan of Seattle, and grandchildren Clare (6) and Max (2) Donovan of Glenwood Springs. He also had many special friends who survive him including Rod Dyer, Ken Smith and Ralph Young. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Margaret Donovan.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction at 1 p.m. There will also be a remembrance potluck luncheon held at the American Legion Hall in Carbondale on Sunday, March 2, from 1-4 p.m. Please bring along a dish of some sort; there will be refreshments available.
