by Catherine Lutz, Aspen Daily News Staff Writer
Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Although opinion is split, some local officials have long warned that business would be lost above the threshold of a 10 percent sales tax.

The proposed Lift One Master Plan development will add 1,300 vehicle trips per day to Aspen streets and will net developers about $50 million in profits.

Included in the plan are two hotels, each with whole ownership components, affordable housing, a massive underground parking garage serving both hotels, a ski museum, multiple restaurants, a surface tow lift from Dean Street to the base of the ski hill and a new high-speed quad to replace the aging Lift 1A.
