Wow! George Carlin was right, that as Americans we have front-row seats to the freak show. And what’s freakier than Dumbya and Co. and corporate media that have collectively wreaked havoc on our Constitution and our way of life for these 7.5 years (it feels like 50).
You can always tell what’s up by what the mainstream media is not reporting. The latest example being, in a very long list, the no-bid oil contracts that Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP are forcing on the Iraqis. Not a bad gig — socialize the costs (through the military) and privatize the profits. The American Dream! “You have to be sleeping to believe it,” — George Carlin.
The one bright spot in this age of unreason is independent media and the Internet. Shout out to the relentless Amy Goodman and DemocracyNow, who reports more truth in five minutes than the Tim Russerts, Wolf Blizters and other assorted corporate carnival barkers do in a lifetime.
Wake up and smell the fascism. Turn off corporate propaganda.
