As the summer baseball and softball season starts to wind down, the Basalt Recreation Department would like to express our thanks to the many volunteer coaches who dedicate so much of their time to help the youth of the Roaring Fork Valley learn not only the game of baseball and softball, but also the sportsmanship and camaraderie of playing on a team.
Many thanks to Brad Elliot, Brian Hipona, Bruce Matherly, Chris Peshek, Curtis Schwab, Darrel Zwieg, David Briscoe, David Schoenberger, Frankie and Larry Strait, Jeff Davis, Jon Barnes, Kris Sinko, Mike Glen, Peter King, Steve Aitken, Brian Pettet and Matt Flink. Thank you to all the parents who helped out with refreshments and made sure their child was at practices and games. Also thank you to all the players who dedicated their summer to playing ball. And thank you to the umpires and field workers for taking the time to be at the games. We appreciate everyone’s hard work with the summer recreation baseball and softball league.
