The Twelve Days of ACS

Editor:

During this season of giving thanks my family is eternally grateful for the Aspen Community School (ACS).

On the first day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A choice in public school education in the valley.

On the second day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A place where students feel safe, welcome and included.

On the third day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A low student-to-teacher ratio.

On the fourth day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A nationally acclaimed academic and arts program (run out of one of Colorado’s lowest-ranked facilities).

On the fifth day of gifting, our true school gave to us: An amazing El Tioga hot lunch.

On the sixth day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A principal that greets every student and parent by name each morning.

On the seventh day of gifting, our true school gave to us: An amazing garden to feed the whole school.

On the eighth day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A weekly all-school meeting to keep students, parents, staff and the community connected to student successes and challenges.

On the ninth day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A first rate all-school play with 100 percent student participation.

On the tenth day of gifting, our true school gave to us: A multitude of opportunities for in-service learning to give back to the community.

On the eleventh day of gifting, our true school gave to us: An enriching outdoor education program.

On the twelfth day of gifting, our true school asked of us: Help in raising a $4.9 million matching grant from BEST (Building Excellent Schools Today).

In the spirit of the season, visit iBelieveACS.org and see how you can join my family in helping our amazing school to keep on giving to our amazing community.
