I don’t know if I like Obama, or trust him to have enough integrity to be effective as President of the world’s foremost consumers. But I do like his Pastor. What shame we place over the Constitution when we seek to discredit a man with what another man says, when his pastor actually speaks the truth about this country we’ve grown so (complacent) about.
Like the black man’s pastor, if we do as we are taught and judge by ourselves by our fruits, America is and has long been the number one generator of terrorism. So much so, we conveniently delete ourselves from all such lists, despite all the rest of the world knowing otherwise.
Possibly, Rev. Wright could have subdued his right to freely speak by using the archaic word “rebuke” instead “damn” to explain what any actually following Christian need not question: America has been given over to its enemy for the falsity of its Democracy. What we are fighting – and have been fighting — is the backlash of the exploitation (we claim is Democracy), that we’ve been imposing via coup and heavily financed death squads for more than a century now.
Of course, the Republicans blaming Obama are Adam’s blaming Eve as Paradise collapses under the weight of their greed. For like their patron saint, they got to blame somebody for their own turning from the God they profess to follow.
We didn’t bomb the Trade Center ourselves; still, it isn’t a sin of omission either. Our economy is and remains warfare. Until the day America is no more — which by the looks of things will come sooner than anyone expected. Save possibly the Chinese. Who planned for their ascent to commence with the collapse of both the Soviets and the capitalists?
Our economy has been warfare; its graft and booty against the natives in the West and more recent, because we never solved the Great Depression. We never begat a real economy after W.W.II, when all our troops could have been stood down.
