On Saturday, July 19, starting at 7:30 a.m., the 18th Annual Komen Aspen Race for the Cure will kick off at Rio Grande Park.
The race funds breast health initiatives in our tri-county service area
of Pitkin, Garfield and Eagle Counties and provides grants to local
nonprofits.
The Aspen 2007 Race helped raise $550,000 in grants to our local
service area. Twenty-five percent of funds help fund the Susan G. Komen
Foundation's innovative and cutting-edge National Research program.
Seventy-five percent of funds raised stay in our local community.
So if you are looking to get outside, run and support a great cause,
you might want to sign up for the race soon. For more information on
the event, visit komenaspen.org.
