Name: Stephanie Brown

Current residence (town): Snowmass Village in the winter and Methven, New Zealand, in the Down-under winter.

Age: it's a well-guarded secret …I even guard it from myself.

Sports: Skiing, horse riding, biking and hiking.

Day job/profession:
Ski instructor and trainer in Aspen/Snowmass, examiner for NZSIA and PSIA, and the alpine course director for NZSIA.

Athletic achievements: New Zealand National Alpine Team for InterSki Crans Montana Switzerland 2003 and Korea 2007; being hired by Weems Westfelt and Victor Gerdin to work on the Snowmass Ski School; competing in the World Syncro Ski Competitons; coaching Aspen Team Diva for the World Syncro Ski Competitions; and training show jumpers for national and international competitions in New Zealand.

Athletic aspirations? Keep skiing for as long as I can. Keep working on my skiing every day, 300 days a year. Enjoy the sports for which I have a passion, inspire as many people as I can to love skiing, riding, hiking and dancing.
Favorite pre-game/pre-competition meal? Vegemite, and Mainland tasty cheese on Vogels toast, followed by kiwi fruit, and tamerillos, drizzled with passion fruit.

If you could go to dinner with one athlete - living or dead - who would it be and why?
Squatty (aka David Schuler) at the Woody Creek Tavern. He is the best: he is my mentor, my role model, and my idol. He inspires me to keep going for my personal best every day.

Favorite workout music?
The Greatful Dead; my buddy Sloman introduced me to them, way back, their music keeps me going.

Ankle or tube socks?
Long black merino wool ski socks

Who or what inspires you?
My friends, ALL of them — they are fantastic. They have moved mountains to pull me through the challenging times, and then inspired me to reach for the stars. Love goes a long way.

Superstitions?
I am a kiwi, always got to wear something black.

Vegetarian or carnivore?
Meat and veggies.
