Ride electric

RFTA CEO Dan Blankenship, right, and city of Aspen director of transportation John Kreuger, left, cut the ribbon on a brand new zero-emission electric bus at Rubey Park Tuesday afternoon. RFTA has added eight new electric buses to its fleet, each of which is projected to save $400,000 in fuel costs over 12 years. “RFTA is proving that electric buses work under the harshest conditions of altitude, temperature and along long-distance routes in rural mountain communities,” according to a press release. “If they can work here, electric buses can work basically anywhere.”
