Longhorn domination

The Basalt Longhorns high school girls cross country team, led by sophomore Katelyn Maley (pictured) won the Delta Confluence Invitational on Friday. Maley posted a record-setting time of 17:21.03 for the 5,000 meter run en route to the victory; her Longhorn teammates Sierra Bower, Ava Lane and Sarah Levy finished in second through fourth places. Basalt’s Noah Allen won the boys race in 17:26.30 followed by teammate Ross Barlow in second and Longhorn Talon Carballiera in fifth. The Basalt boys team finished second behind Caprock Academy High School.
